Alessandra Staffelli

alessandra staffelliGraduating in Environmental Science at ‘Università Parthenope’ in Naples.

Alessandra has always been extremely enthusiastic about nature and animals, especially about the marine environment, a passion that has accompanied her since she was a little girl first with the participation to swimming competitions and then with extensive travelling where, for example, she witnessed the opening of turtles’ eggs in Greece, snorkelled and scuba dived in wonderful locations such as the waters of Maldives and the Red Sea. Her life and work paths have taught her to work well in a team, carry out research activities and participate at 360 degrees to the experiences she is involved in.

In July 2007 she obtains the diving license Open Water PADI, which has allowed her to develop a rational management of time and available equipment in order to reach the set goals. Since 2008 Alessandra has been teaching swimming, aquatic disciplines, and neonatal swimming in the main swimming centres of her city. In 2012 she becomes Pilates teacher, promoting initiatives of performing this discipline in parks and natural reserves in the Naples area.
In November 2009 Alessandra participates in the Oceanographic Campaign for training and research purposes organised by Università Parthenope in the Gulf of Naples, during which she obtains competencies and skills to perform surveys with multiparameter probe CTD, Rosette, Benne and plankton nets.
With ODO, in 2016 Alessandra becomes research assistant first, then researcher for Ischia Dolphin Project. During the same year, she performs educational lessons on cetaceans at Nautico High School “C.Mennella” in Ischia and in Capraro School in Procida.
Currently, she is an ODO team member, focused on Ischia Dolphin Project, based in the Gulf of Naples.
