All data collected during the sightings at sea are useful for analyzing the status, distribution and abundance of cetaceans and obtain a better understanding of the ecology of the species, to assess the impact of human activities on the populations and analyze the reproductive aspects. Our study areas: the archipelago Pontino-Campano (Islands of Ischia and Ventotene) (LT and NA), the Tuscan coast and the islands of its archipelago (islands of Gorgona, Capraia, Elba, Pianosa, Giannutri, Giglio and Montecristo) archipelago of Pelagie (Lampedusa) (AG), Marina di Ravenna (RA), Torvaianica-Ostia (RM), Manfredonia (FG)
